Fair Ball!
Thursday, July 7 – The West Hartford U10 White team made a come-back in the bottom of the 5th inning (5 innings played) to tie the Ellington B team, 12-12. WH gave up 4 runs early in the 1st inning but held Ellington to 3 runs over the next 3 innings. Emmett Coco had his debut with the WH U10 throwing two strong innings. Ean Tyler relieved in the 4th inning striking out three of the four batters faced to retire the side. Ellington fought back in the 5th inning scoring 5 runs but WH would not give in. In the bottom of the 5th, Jamey Nadeau led things off for WH with a base hit followed by Kyle Bridgman with a double, Luke Gfeller and Anthony Carabello with singles. This would get WH the runs they needed to get back in the game and tie it at 12-12. Unfortunately, darkness fell and the game ended in a tie. Brian Brewer also scored 2 runs in the game to lead WH. Anthony (Nino) Carabello led the team with 2 base hits.
