U10 Travel: Ellington 9 Travel White 6

Taking the second of a three-game series, Ellington used stronger hitting and pitching to win one at home Sunday evening, prevailing over Travel White 9-6. Although Travel White jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead, capitalizing on hits by Mac Reynolds (2-3, 2R) and Cory Wolski (1-2, 2R), Ellington roared back with 6 hits and 6 runs in the first three innings to take a commanding 6-1 lead. The White closed the gap to 6-4 in the 4th, when Eduardo Rodriguez jacked a little league home run to drive in 3. Although the two-out rally continued with hits by Jack Brennan and Noah Fox, it came to an end with one of many strikeouts on the day for the White. Sadly for the White, Ellington answered right back with 3 in the bottom of the 4th. Runs by Dominic Mongillo and Cory in the 5th and 6th were not enough to close the gap. Travel White and Ellington are looking forward to the rubber match, again in Ellington, on July 26.
