Genuine Excitement in Farmington on Thursday Night

The manufactured excitement in Greenwich on Thursday night paled in comparison to the genuine excitement in Farmington with the WHLL U12 Red team. The Red fell just short after a tremendous comeback loosing the battle 11 to 9 against Farmington – Maroon.

After giving up 10 runs in the first 2 innings Mason DiCicco came in to shut down the Farmington team by striking out 7 (6 in a row) and giving up 1 walk, and 1 run. DiCicco and catcher Alex DellaBianca took defensive control of the game giving the offense a chance to get back in it.

The quiet Red bats were woken up in the 3rd on a 2 run triple tagged to the opposite field by Bryce DellaBianca who later scored. West Hartford then scored 1 in the 5th on a double by Patrick Corcoran and 4 in the 6th on hits by Max Sparks, D.H. Higgins, James Eden, and Noah Schulman. DiCicco and Alex Dell also added hits for West Hartford while Sparks lead the team with 2 hits.
