Fair Ball!
In a regular season finale showdown at Kennedy Park of 1st and 2nd place AAA teams, the Keller Maintenance A's showed up (and then some) to pull out a convincing win over the season long dominant 1st place Seamus Painting Angels in 5 innings.
The A's pitching was anchored by Ryan "Cornbread" Druckenmiller (4IP, 3H, 2R, 11K, 0BB) who started and pitched a total gem, striking out the side 3 times in the 1st, 2nd and 4th. Matty "K" Keller (1IP, 0H, 0R, 2K, 0BB) came in for the 5th and it was more of the same. On 13 pitches, Matty took down the top of the Angels order all by himself, striking out two looking and taking a two-hop come-backer for a nice and easy 1-3 to Eryk Jones to end the game.
At the plate, A's bats were on fire. Ryan Druckenmiller (3-3, 1B, 2B, 3B, 4R) led the charge with a bomb to right-center in the 5th for a long triple. Jack "Brock" Brockway (2-4, 2B, 3R, game ball) continued his hot hitting with another hard hit double in the 3rd and Peter "Smiley" Geddicks (2-3, 2(2B), 2R) continues to crush the ball since moving up in the batting order with two doubles to deep right center (almost exact same spot). Other notables were Matt Keller (1-2, bunt, 3R) who laid down a perfect bunt in the 3rd, Tim "TK" Kyle (1-2, 2R) and Owen "O" Hyland (1-1, 3R) who got on base 3 times.
For the Angels, Nick Bray (3IP, 5H, 7R, 6K) showed the A's why he's one of the top players in AAA. Nick started the game and pitched well for 3 full innings, striking out the side in the 2nd. Nick also did it with the bat. Nick (2-3, 2(1B), 1R) lined two hard shots in this game that fell in front of the A's outfielders. Jake Rosenkrantz also had a big hit, lining a double to left in the 1st.
