Fair Ball!
It was a hot muggy night, when standing still in the shade made you sweat. But the Marlins and the Phillies endured the heat and played a good ball-game.
Sharing duties on the mound for the Phillies was the Hussey boys Dan and Joe, with some additional help from Jack Tousignant battling the Marlins. Offensively for the Phillies, Thomas Dowd went 3 for 4 in the loss.
Pitching for the Marlins, Johnny Doar went 2 innings and Paul Chavey, allowing only 5 runs and striking out 4 in the final 3 innings.
The Marlins were solid at the plate, being patient when necessary but aggressive as the opportunities presented themselves. Led by the hot bat of Benjamin Giroux, who went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, with additional help from Nick Macosko and Charlie Steinberg (both of whom when 2 for 4 with a double and a single), the Marlins finished the regular season with a strong performance and heads-up play by all.
