The Red Raiders finished their 18 game schedule with a 12 - 5 record and 1 Rain Out, by defeating the Wethersfield Royal 20-14 under the lights. Big hits came from Owen Hyland (3-3),Dom Mongillo (1B&3B), Sam Harrington (3-3),Ben Giroux and Andrew Siemienski. Pitching was strong with a fresh arm each inning, including a 3k ( 0 runs) inning by Tommy Sullivan and Matt Keller. Jeffrey Bridgman U10 TRAVEL: WH WHITE 9 VS ELLINGTON (B) 10

West Hartford played Ellington close this evening in a 10-9 finish with Ellington taking the lead in their last at bat. The game finished in 5 innings. Chris Keller U10 Travel: Red Raiders Take First Loss To New Hartford

The U10 Red Raiders took their first tournament loss to a tough New Hartford team 17-9.  In the 1st inning New Hartford got on the board with 3 runs capitalizing on a few walks and 2hits. However, the Raiders tied it at 3 in the bottom of the first with with  5 straight hits including a hard double by John Scrimgeour. Jeffrey Bridgman U10 TRAVEL: WH U10 TRAVEL WHITE 14, WETHERSFIELD (GREY) 12

West Hartford White won their first summer ball game tonight, 14-12, against Wethersfield (grey).  WH made some great plays in the field tonight starting with Anthony Carabello in the 4th inning throwing a runner out at home from left field.  Wethersfield attempted to turn third base and Anthony threw a bullet to Spencer Martindale at home who made an solid pro tag on the runner to end the inning.  This was followed by a similar play in the 6th inning.   Brian Brewer at…

Chris Keller U10 Travel: WH U10 Travel Red Raiders 4 - Burlington 3

The U10 Red Raiders began their Tournament play with a nail biter win.  Defense was the name of the game against a hard hitting Burlington Team.  Burlington jumped out to a 2-0 lead after two innings, but the Raiders scored once in the 3rd as Sam Harrington walked, and stole the next three bases making it 2-1. The Red Raiders win again at home this 4 th of July weekend defeating the Manchester Travel A team 13-1. Hustle and great base running were the key ingredients to a solid win for the Raiders. Chris Keller U10 TRAVEL: WH U10 TRAVEL RED RAIDERS 15 - WETHERSFIELD ROYAL 7

The Red Raiders win their home opener in dominant fashion, defeating the Wethersfield Royal Travel team by the score of 15-7. The raiders struggled to find the strike zone in the 1st with 5BB,1H,3R, but settled down with reliever Brian Puleo taking control. Brian finished the second inning striking out 2, BB, and 1H. Chris Keller U10 TRAVEL: WH U10 Travel Red Raiders 9- MANCHESTER A 7

The Red Raiders win opener on road, defeating Manchester A 9-7 in 4 inning.  A late start and darkness caused the game to go only 4, but that didn't stop the Raiders from focusing on their mission.  Dylan Mallinson took the mound in the first walking a few but finding his groove by striking out the side.  Sam Levine threw 1 2/3 inning with a 1,2,3 in the 2nd.  Dom Mongillo came in relief to face 2 batters and getting the final out of the 3rd. Jeffrey Bridgman U10 TRAVEL: ELLINGTON-A 7, WEST HARTFORD TRAVEL WHITE 6

Michael Cass Minors Div. Championship Game: Best Smiles Angels 7, Rita's Royals 4

 

  Father's Day and Baseball: always a good combination. The Minor's Div. Royals and Angels entertained the fans from opening pitch to last. Daniel Busch Majors Championship: Lucas Busch hurls a 1 hit shutout as the CT Foot & Ankle Braves win, 10-0.

On Fathers Day it was a beautiful day for baseball and Lucas Busch and his golden arm came to pitch. Busch dominated the Angels who during the season were arguably the best hitting team in WHLL. Busch kept them off balance the whole game as one player remarked to Lucas’ dad during the game “I can’t hit that”. Jeffrey Bridgman AAA: MANDELL JCC DODGERS 14 – BROTHERS ASSOCIATES LANDSCAPERS PHILLIES 9

MIchael Lage MAJORS: TotalVision Eyecare Center A's 6 Murtha Cullina Marlins 5

The TotalVision Eyecare Center A's and the Murtha Cullina Marlins  hooked up in just a great quarter-final round playoff game at UConn with the A's coming away with a 6-5 walk off victory. With the win the A's will move onto the semi-finals Wednesday night at UConn to take on the Braves.
