Seamus O'Connell also furthered the Marlins cause with a solid 5th inning at catcher. AAA Pirates 15, Athletics 8

Following an inspiring Opening Day Ceremony the Pirates and the A's enjoyed a well-played first contest of the season. The A's were led by the strong starting pitching performance of Chris Maglio. Max Hasan and Emett Coco impressed fans on both sides of the diamond as each lad put on a virtual clinic at catcher. Jack Zapata wowed the crowd with his dare we say "Athletic" grab of a scorching liner off the bat of Pirate Ari Blechner. Ari crushed the pitch and was amazed it had not sailed into…See More

Minors: Best Smiles Angels 6, Ritas Royal's 3

The Best Smiles Angels topped Ritas Royals in a well-played game on a steamy Memorial Day. Although both squads braved rain and heat to march in the Memorial Day Parade they still managed to "crank it up" and entertain the fans with quality baseball. The Royals' offense was ignited by Andrew Mazzatto who got the first hit of the day and scored later in the same inning. Nicholas Iaiennaro made a habit of getting on base and scoring as he accounted for the other Royals' runs. Jackson Grady also…See More

Instructional: Marlins 12, Orioles 2

Playing at UCONN on the temporary "rain" field the Orioles and the Marlins played an exciting game characterized by the pure hustle of both squads. It ended up being a game of "firsts" for many. Francius added to the Orioles hitting attack smacking a triple over the heads of the Marlins outfielders and Yusey Tanaka earned kudos from coaches and fans on both sides of the field with his hustling "nose…See More
