Majors: CT Foot & Ankle Braves 3 - Total Eyecare Center A's 1

The Braves and A's matched up in a semi-final gem battling for a birth to the Championship.  It promised to be a pitchers duel with Braves ace James Eden squaring off with A's ace Eli Freilich and catchers Charlie Lage and Lucas Busch behind the plate.   A pitchers duel it was, as a 1-1 score was carried into the 6th.  Both pitchers went 5 innings with Eden giving up no earned runs and Freilich only one.   The Braves got their run in the 3rd when Blake Deresienski dropped a bunt single, stole…See More

Majors: CT Foot & Ankle Braves 4 - Murtha Cullina LLP Marlins 3

It was a beautiful night for the last game of the regular season and the Braves Matty Berson came to play. The Braves would win in walkoff fashion on an RBI from Dominic Fuentes. The Marlins Burke Martindale and Braves James Eden battled on the hill carrying a 0-0 score into the 3rd inning. The Braves struck first when Grayson Carter went deep in the count and drew the walk and scored on a Gabi Silver RBI groundball to 2nd. In the 4th, the Marlins added 3 runs on some walks, loose defense and 2…See More

Majors: CT Foot & Ankle Braves 7 – New Britain Rock Cat Twins 2

It was a perfect night for baseball. The Braves improved to 8-2 on the pitching of Lucas Busch and a relentlessly pesky offense. Busch who threw the complete game allowed 4 hits and recorded 11 strikeouts. The Braves bats were patient and worked deep into counts and baserunners were aggressive and smart. Braves offense came from Lucas Busch 2-2, Matt Patchen 2-3, James Eden 2-3, Alex Haggerty 1-2, Hunter Polce RBI, and Blake Deresienski RBI. On the defensive side Jonathon Peikes saved a run…See More

Majors: CT Foot & Ankle Braves 5 – Retirement Vision LLC Dodgers 0

James Eden was brilliant on the mound, throwing a 1 hitter, with 13 strikeouts, and 1 walk, and just one batter shy of a complete game shutout, leading the Braves to their 7th victory. Eden has improved his pitching dramatically experimenting with some off-speed pitches and locating his fastball with precision. Kyle Nichols notched the save on one pitch, a ground ball to Jonathon Peikes, to end the game.  Lucas Busch went 3-3 at the plate and scored 3 runs in the game.  Busch got the Braves…See More

MAJORS: CT Foot & Ankle Braves 2 - Herb's Sport Shop Angels 1

The Braves held on to win 2-1 and move into first place with a 6-1 record in a tight pitchers duel.   James Eden earned the complete game win with 10 strikeouts and no walks.  Eden also played fabulous defense as a pitcher converting 4 plays.  Jeffrey Larosa pitched well for the Angels giving up no runs with 6K’s in 3 innings of work. The game went 0-0 into the 5th when Hunter Polce reached base on an error and then scored from third on a sacrifice blast from Alex Haggerty.  Jefferey Larosa made…See More

Majors: CT Foot & Ankle Braves 5 - CT Shower & Bath Phillies 0 - Busch hurls a PERFECT GAME!

Lucas Busch hurls a PERFECT GAME to lead the Braves to a 5-0 victory.  Busch faced 18 batters and retired them all with 15 strikeouts and 3 routine infield plays.  Lucas was effective with all three of his pitches,  changing speeds and locations to keep the hitters off balance.  Late in the game, the Phillies Ryan Burgos worked himself a 3-0 count, but Lucas worked his way back and got the out to preserve perfection.  It was an amazing accomplishment for Lucas and a first for WHLL!  Matt…See More

MAJORS: CT Foot & Ankle Braves 7 - Feigenbaum & Nair Scrap Metal Processing Cardinals 6

With 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th and trailing in the game 6-1, the Braves accomplished the comeback of the year.  The Braves would score 6 runs in about 10 minutes highlighted by a James Eden triple "one bouncer" to the wall which plated 3 runs and put the tying run at 3rd.  In the next at-bat Kyle Nichols drew the walk and immediately hustled out of the box and headed for 2nd.  In the ensuing chaos, James Eden saw an opportunity to be aggressive and steal home.  This caused an overthrow at…See More

Majors Championship: Lucas Busch hurls a 1 hit shutout as the CT Foot & Ankle Braves win, 10-0.

Posted on June 20, 2011 at 1:00pm 0 Comments

On Fathers Day it was a beautiful day for baseball and Lucas Busch and his golden arm came to pitch. Busch dominated the Angels who during the season were arguably the best hitting team in WHLL. Busch kept them off balance the whole game as one player remarked to Lucas’ dad during the game “I can’t hit that”. The Braves starting pitcher went the distance with 13K’s, 1 hit and 1 walk and not allowing a hit to the top 5 batters. Catchers Matty Berson and Alex Haggerty were clutch behind the…

In the first round of the playoffs the 3rd ranked Braves faced off with the 6th ranked Cardinals in what promised to be a pitchers duel.  Cardinals ace Michael Mack faced off against the tadem of James Eden and Lucas Busch.   The pitchers carried a 0-0 game into the 4th, when the Cards struck first.   Michael Mack worked deep into the count and worked a walk and Isaias Villalobos blasted a two run homer to break the ice.  It wouldn't take long for the Braves to respond as the bats came alive in… Continue
